The Department of Energy (DOE) Dedicated Purpose Pool Pump (DPPP) regulations began in July 2021.

With more than 8.5 million pools in the U.S., the new DPPP regulations provide considerable savings to pool owners. According to the DOE, by updating a pool pump that complies with the DPPP rules, pool owners have the potential of saving $2,140 in 12-months and improving yearly operating costs by about $550.*

Single speed pumps are not only outdated energy hogs, they are expected to be extinct for purchase year end 2024. Any Pool Pump above 1 horsepower will require to be retrofitted with Variable speed pumps.

Personally speaking, I have been told from numerous customers, $50-$70 a month in energy savings. This is not only good for the pocketbook but also helps the environment we live in. As well with these new regulations and smart pumps, installation has become more complex.

Make sure you research the company installing these pumps and are factory authorized and trained. This not only provides proper installations but should also provide extended no hassle warranty.

Thanks for reading and hope this helps.
